We are located in Southern California. The horses listed on this site are at different ranches with our PSR Team. There are several ranches that help horses find forever homes. We are here to help horses. Our goal is to help horses find new homes that owners can not longer keep. Horses are at high risk of going to auction. We encourage owners to contact us and ask for help. Our goal is to help all at risk horses. No horse should have to endure neglect, starvation, abuse or abandonment. And no horse should be sent to auction because the owner can not keep him but we do understand that sometimes it is the owners only choice.
PSR offers good quality family horses on consignment or for adoption for all levels of riders. We specialize in matching horse and rider. Often times the horses owner has financial problems, divorse, death in the family, or is relocating. We have several horses needing homes due to the economy. All horses are healthy and pass our inspection before they are represented on the web site. We are offering website adverting in hopes of keeping the horse from going to auction. In most situations PSR is paying/absorbing all costs in care and transportation to the ranch. Or paying to board the horse while he waits for a new family. We also specialize in educating kids and families about horses. WE ARE HELPING A LARGE NUMBER OF HORSES IN 2013 THAT ARE HIGH RISK FOR AUCTION. These horses take top priority. Their fate is uncertain. Sometimes one day can make all the difference. Auction schedules, which are these horses dead lines, can be found on the rescue page. HORSES IN SOUTHERN CA ARE JUST HOURS AWAY FROM TWO HORSE AUCTIONS WHERE NO THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF A GOOD HOME. AND HIGH RISK OF SLAUGHTER.
Due to our love for these wonderful animals, we also operate separately from our consignment horses, a rescue program where we do our best to rescue as many horses in need as possible from the local auctions or from private parties. We work closely with other rescues in the Southern, CA area. Our goal is to stop the suffering of neglect, starvation, abandonment, abuse, and going to auction and or slaughter. We also work with Lake Elsinore Animal Friends and the SPCA as volunteers. PSR is a Member of Save Our Service Horses, providing new homes for camp horses, rental string horses, dude ranch horses, lesson horses, carriage horses, and pony ride ponies. Most of these horses come from out of state. Our goal is to keep them from going to auction/slaughter or being abandoned after their job is done. This program is nation wide. Not a non profit organization. All programs are paid for by us. Prices are firm on all horses.
PSR also provides a program for Thoroughbreds that are ex-race horses. We have contacts with trainers, breeders and track haulers. These horses are off the track, detoxed off the hot feed and started back under saddle by our trainers. They can find new careers as jumpers, dressage prospects or pleasure horses. And are awaiting families to provide them with the love and quality life that they deserve. Please let us know if you are interested in a TB horse. We have contacts with horses already trained in jumping and dressage. These horses are not at PSR but with trainers at other locations and are available to good homes only. Adopion only.
PSR is a "different kind of rescue". We have many programs to help horses find new homes. We are not a retirement facility. Yet we do have many perminate residents that we support, some over 20 yrs. We give unbroke horses a good start. We do saddle training and have english and western trainers assisting. We believe if the horse is broke to ride he will have better odds of finding a life long home and not ending up at auction and possible slaughter.
We specialize in matching horses with people in hopes of finding a permanent home. If needed, all horses are seen by the horse dentist, shoer and chiropractor. Worming and shots are all updated. We are not horse dealers or horse traders, prices are firm, no payments on any horse and we do not buy horses. Our program is run by volunteers. Transportation to and from the ranch can be provided by our professional haulers that are fully insured and bonded. Safety is #1 at PSR. All horses ride in style and arrive safe and sound. Haulers are listed on the Horses page with info.
